No wonder Atlantic City is suffering, Pennsylvania is making quite an impact on the gambling scene, at least if collected taxes act as an indicator.

In a lengthy Q&A session with the Las Vegas Sun, Eadington addresses a wide range of issues, including (a) why the state of Nevada needs to be told that the gaming industry’s taxing tit is dry; (b) how social networking may be the casinos’ saving grace and (c) why the relationship between Macau and Las Vegas is more complementary than competitive. Eadington also believes legal online gambling in the U.S. is inevitable, and in what is an early favorite for gambling quote of the year, states that “intrastate internet poker may be the camel’s nose under the tent.” <a

In the face of the federal government condemning online gambling as illegal, brand advertising has still managed to move full speed ahead into the mainstream. You can find brand logos on MMA fighters, on poker players and even on gaming tables and hotel casino walls in Las Vegas, they’re everywhere and it doesn’t look the trend will stop anytime soon. <a

Seeing as CalvinAyre.com gives you the best headlines, I decided it’s only fair to get myself a hummer in Vegas…amongst a whole lot of other things. In fact, so much happened in Vegas for the 4th of July and the Main Event of the WSOP that I do not even know where to start. As the Head On-site Reporter & International Socialite for CalvinAyre.com, it is essential for me to report on events during the day AND socialize at events throughout the night, so the reality of the situation is that I attend everything and just don’t sleep. Hey, its a sacrifice I make in the name of fun and entertainment, so have a look below and see why you better get your ass to Vegas and join me next year!

July 3rd
My day began bright and early at the Rio, kicking off with an inspiring interview with Montel Williams and followed by a two hour whirlwind on the Ante Up For Africa Red Carpet. During the media madness, I did manage to snatch a few moments of fame with a bunch of celebs such as Ante up for Africa founders Anne Duke and Don Cheadle, poker pros Phil Gordon, and Greg Raymer and actors Shannon Elizabeth, the highly inappropriate but hilarious Brad Garrett, and the guaranteed crowd pleaser Matt Damon. And, yes Matt Damon is just as good looking in person, if not better. I think I’m in love.

Six hours later, Phil Gordon won the Ante Up for Africa tourney, donated all of his $130,641 in winnings to charity, and it was time to celebrate. First stop was the Victory Poker CEO’s BBQ at Panorama Towers, a luxury condo complex just off the strip where you bump into a poker pro every five seconds because over 70 of them live there. After a burger and several cocktails I made my way to the Doyle Brunson WSOP Party at Blush to see Will Griffiths, Doyle himself and a bunch of other industry friends. After a few hours I snuck off to Tryst to meet up with the Full Tilt CEO, John Pappas of the PPA, F1 driver Lucas di Grassi, Joe Reitman my new favorite person, and god knows who else. As you can imagine, this night turned into a late one…I guess that’s what happens when you have a fun crowd and Full Tilt blesses their VIP tables with countless bottles of Dom Perignon and a bottle of whisky for John.

July 4th
For America’s birthday I celebrated in style by dropping by several nice affairs, the first being the 5th annual 2+2 Party which is essentially a huge room full of poker players playing poker. One of the many players I met at the party was Shaun Deeb and I promptly gave him a high five for knocking Patrik Selin out of the EPT Monaco and collecting the €1,000 bounty.

Next on the list was the Everest Poker party on the roof deck of PURE, the perfect setting to watch the Las Vegas fireworks, and then I went downstairs to PURE’s Red Room for the Bodog Social. Good times all around in the Red Room, and I particularly enjoyed the sushi and delicious apps, the attentive bartenders, and the plethora of Bodog Girls who were super friendly and wearing some very hot little numbers. Just as the Bodog Social was wrapping up, I snuck off in an orange Lamborghini (no lie) to hit the Bluff Magazine party at Sapphire to see a few naked chicks and interview Eric Morris about his fear of midgets. To top off the evening, I went back to PURE to join team Bodog at their VIP table which full of friends, affiliates, business partners, tons of booze, pics and dancing. Yikes.

July 5th
July 5th was a rough day for everyone. Hung over, tired, and brain dead, so we decided to shoot some guns and film the whole thing. I chose an Uzi and man, that thing is powerful, and I never thought I would say this, but…shooting guns is fun! By dinnertime I had some strength back, and good thing I did because my dinner with affiliates Lewis and Adam was no joke…we hit Mastro’s and ordered the largest seafood platter I’ve ever seen in my life, and I’m from Boston! After dinner we went to the Ultimate Bet party on the 23rd floor of the Mandarin Oriental, one of the nicest venues I’ve ever seen. This party was jam packed full of fun people and UB poker pros such as Phil Hellmuth, Annie Duke, Hollywood Dave, Scotty Ian and many, many others. This party was an exquisite event and I only wish I could have stayed longer but had to go home and rest because…

July 6th
July 6th was Porn Star Karaoke night and it was on the CalvinAyre.com schedule for “Becky to get drunk”. On the schedule! So, I got drunk. This night certainly went down in history as one of the most hilarious nights out that I’ve ever had. The hummer rides to and from the bar were more than enough entertainment, and couple that with porn stars singing karaoke plus Bob Rain’s rap style version of The Pointer Sisters’ “I’m So Excited” and you’re risking literally splitting your gut. Just you wait until this video comes out…that’s all I have to say about that.

There is nothing in the world quite like this city, and it is even crazier, busier and hotter than ever during the Main Event of the <a

As the Head On-Site Reporter and International Socialite for CalvinAyre.com, I’ll be hitting just about all of the parties listed below, including the token strip bar, so get yourself some invites (or try sneaking into the damn place, I don’t care) and I will see you there. Pinot noir and expensive champagne are my favorites, thank you.<br
